Peter Ruxton

Principal, Tembo Capital LLP

Peter Ruxton holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Geological Sciences and Ph.D in Economic Geology from the University of Leeds, England.  In 2000, he completed an MBA from the Institute for Financial Management (Manchester Business School & University of Wales).

Dr. Ruxton worked in the mining industry for 15 years spending 11 years with Billiton in Australia.  He played a key role in the team that discovered the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine in WA and the Tanami Gold Mine in central Australia.  Dr. Ruxton spent a further 3 years as Exploration Manager with Ross Mining N.L., where he co-ordinated the Gold Ridge Bankable Feasibility Study – the Gold Ridge Gold Mine in the Solomon Islands commenced production in August 1998.

Returning to the UK, Peter spent 8 years as a PE mining Investment Fund Manager, joining the Commonwealth Development Corporation (“CDC”) in 2000.  Following the creation of Actis LLP in mid-2004, he was employed initially as Investment Principal with promotion to the Partnership in 2006.

Dr. Ruxton is currently a Principal of Tembo Capital a Developing Markets focused private equity mining fund.  Tembo commenced Fund 1 (US$100M) in April 2014 and Fund 2 (target US$300-400M) in May 2016.

Finex ’18

FINEX ‘18 is the sixth in a series of biennial conferences bringing together financiers, innovators and explorers from major and junior companies.

Talks will cover developments in capital and commodity markets, mineral deposit science and innovation in exploration, from the standpoints of experts and professionals from banks, finance houses, stockbrokers, exploration and mining companies and contractors. FINEX is not an investment promotion forum but aims to provide a wider perspective on our industry.
