John is an expert in the mining sector with extensive knowledge of all parts of the industry, supported by a keen understanding of macro trends and risk factors that enable him to identify successful business opportunities. He is known for his analyses of smaller mining companies (precious, base and specialty metals, non-metals, rare earths, coal, iron ore and services) and for guiding these businesses through the marketplace and accessing funding sources, to acheive their strategic goals.

John has been ranked No. 1 UK Small Cap Metals and Mining Analyst eight times during his career and was ranked No. 1 Analyst for all UK smaller companies in 2006. John has worked for a number of leading securities firms, building mining teams at three firms. John has also previously worked at Goldman Sachs, SocGen and Montagu Mining Finance, a specialist mining finance project group.
