Jon Russill

Jon is a Principal Exploration Geologist with SRK Exploration Services Ltd., the part of the global SRK Consulting Group that provides mineral exploration services and consulting from project selection to resource definition. Jon has been with SRK for over 13 years in that time has designed and managed exploration programmes for a wide range of commodities and jurisdictions but with a focus on minor metals and high latitude areas. He has authored numerous independent technical reports and managed multi-disciplinary studies for publicly-listed companies and new listings.

In recent years, Jon led SRK's contribution as a partner on the EU-funded INFACT research project which developed less invasive exploration technologies and new approaches to exploration in general that could help to reinvigorate the industry in Europe. Key to this is finding ways to gain greater social acceptance and community support for exploration and mining, and in this talk, Jon presents some ideas for a reconfigured industry that may have a greater chance of exploration success in areas where social, environmental and governance factors are the greatest challenges
