Neil McKenna

Director, Technical Mining Advisory, Deloitte

Neil McKenna  is a Director of Deloitte Technical Mining Advisory. He has more than 20 years experience in the minerals industry, in research, exploration and resource project management, mineral project assessments, due diligences and valuations.

Neil’s responsibilities include mineral asset valuations, mineral project reviews, public reporting as well as strategic leadership for the business. In addition, Neil actively provides audit support and transactional support for Deloitte’s global Audit and Corporate Finance teams. Neil also serves as a member of the Core Mining Team in the UK, and the global Energy & Resources (ERI) industry team for Global Valuation & Modeling, as well as being recognised as a Subject Matter Expert/Specialist for Energy and Resources for Deloitte globally.

Neil has worked on projects involving gold, platinum, chromite, base metals, diamonds, iron ore, lithium, industrial minerals, coal and uranium. 

His current areas of speciality include techno-economic reviews of mineral projects,  mineral project evaluation and due diligence, mineral asset valuations and public reporting. Neil has acted as key technical advisor for a number of mining companies, financial institutions and mineral project investors and has completed a number of Competent and Qualified Persons’ Reports for company listings on various international stock exchanges as well as other regulatory reporting or transactions.

His experience includes working on projects located in, amongst others: South Africa; Lesotho, Swaziland, Namibia; Botswana; Zimbabwe; Mozambique; Tanzania, Ethiopia;  the Central African Republic, the DRC, Burundi, Indonesia, Australia; Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, the Middle-East, Chile, Mongolia and the USA.
